ProHealth Solutions offers a wide variety of aesthetic treatments that will have you looking your best. One of the most popular is microneedling with plasma-rich protein (PRP). These injections are very safe, and the vast majority of our patients easily tolerate them. Not only can microneedling with PRP help reduce scarring, it can also help reduce signs of aging. This non-invasive treatment only takes about an hour, and most patients report seeing results in as little as two weeks.
If you would like to learn more about microneedling with PRP, or any other type of aesthetic treatment we offer, please get in touch with ProHealth Solutions whenever you like. You can give us a call at 727-873-6536 , or you can contact us online.
This is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment where we use several safe, tiny needles to penetrate the skin. This penetration occurs at different depths of skin, and is extremely precise. The needles help to promote rapid healing of the skin, which results in the formation of new elastin and collagen. Once the healing occurs, the skin looks firmer, thicker and has a healthier overall appearance.
You might have heard of athletes receiving PRP injections in order to be able to return to action faster after an injury. But PRP has cosmetic applications as well. These aren’t in the same category as medical fillers, but they still deliver significant benefits. For example, PRP isn’t like a Botox injection, but both deliver excellent results.
When someone suffers an injury of some kind, the body responds by transporting blood platelets to the tissues that have been damaged. This helps the healing process begin. Platelets are extremely important, because they help draw a wide range of healing factors into the injured area.
PRP acts in a similar fashion. The main difference is that it involves the injection of exponentially more platelets than are typically sent to an injured area. The contents of your specific injection will depend on what type of condition you want to address. Here’s a quick look at how the process typically works.
PRP actually delivers incredible anti-aging benefits. Your skin will look much healthier and much more youthful. The injections promote the turnover of cells, which will then provide the benefits.
But PRP is also used to help rejuvenate hair, providing a thicker, fuller head of hair without the need for any sort of surgical procedure, or any sort of drugs. The incredible healing power of the body takes care of everything. In many cases, PRP can help make the follicles you have stronger, and may also stimulate new growth.
Just about anyone who isn’t satisfied with their appearance can benefit from microneedling with PRP. It can address facial issues, such as hyperpigmentation, scarring due to acne, and discoloration of the skin. Microneedling with PRP can also help scarring on other areas of the body, as well as the formations of keloids. These are the lumpy, ridged, raised scars that can develop after an injury has healed.
Again, this is an extremely safe procedure. However, you will need to do a few things before your treatment day arrives. For example, you’ll need to stop taking any kinds of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs for short) at least one week before your procedure. If you could stop taking them two weeks before, that would be even better.
Also, if you could stop taking blood thinners from three to five days before the procedure, that would also help – of course, only do this if your doctor says it’s 100% safe to do so.
You should also stop taking any sort of supplements that have anti-inflammatory properties. These include the following:
We’ll ask what supplements you may be taking. If it’s one that isn’t on this list, we’ll let you know whether or not you should stop taking it during your pre-treatment consultation. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment, and make sure you’re well-hydrated.
There are very few of either, if any. There are some people who may have a small risk of infection as well as bleeding. That’s why we recommend you don’t take blood thinners for a few days before your treatment. Some patients report mild side effects, such as redness or tenderness at the injection site. Some report bruising, tingling, swelling and numbness. But any side effects should quickly dissipate.
After your treatment, you’ll need to take a few precautions. These will not only help ensure the effectiveness of the injection, but also protect you from any potential complications.
Insurance will typically not cover microneedling with PRP. However, we offer not only discounts, but also very attractive financing options.
